45 years ago, today, Walt Disney World held her ground breaking ceremonies.
Held at the Ramada Inn in Ocoee, FL, Roy O. Disney, John Hench, Don Tatum, Card Walker, and other Disney leaders introduced the 1967 plans for the resort. Included in this display were audio animatronics, a large model of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon, along with several supplemental exhibits detailing the resorts and coming attractions.

1930 Cadillac Hearse
Now THAT’S a hearse!
If I had a wife, I’d give her a box of grenades.
Who’s the leader of the club that’s made for you and me?
(I’m gonna keep making that joke every time I see this.)

Airship USS Los Angeles (ZR-3) in a near-vertical position, after her tail rose out-of-control while she was moored at the high mast at Naval Air Station Lakehurst, New Jersey.
On 25 August 1927, while the Los Angeles was tethered at the Lakehurst high mast, a gust of wind caught her tail and lifted it into colder, denser air that was just above the airship. This caused the tail to lift higher. The crew on board tried to compensate by climbing up the keel toward the rising tail, but could not stop the ship from reaching an angle of 85 degrees, before it finally descended. Amazingly, the ship suffered only slight damage and was able to fly the next day.
